Hey Allan, JT, and Benedict, loving the show as always. Just wanted to send in a few things to make sure they were on your radar. Sepherosa Ziehau published a PDF available here: https://leaf.dragonflybsd.org/~sephe/melt_spectre.pdf regarding the network performance impact of spectre+meltdown mitigations on DragonFly BSD. Related mailing list entry here: http://lists.dragonflybsd.org/pipermail/users/2018-February/335669.html I'm sure you're aware, but I'm not sure if it was mentioned on the most recent show (recorded 20180207) since I joined the stream late. SiFive announced the HiFive Unleashed RISC-V 64-bit SBC, which unlike the HiFive-1, is suitable for porting and testing OS and full software builds. Since FreeBSD already had a working RISC-V build (if I'm remembering the previous shows correctly), this is especially exciting, being able to have a physical board you can run RISC-V *BSD builds on: https://www.crowdsupply.com/sifive/hifive-unleashed And as for some shameless self-promotion, I've taken some inspiration from Dan's FreeBSD diary, I'm recording my DragonFly BSD, HardenedBSD, and OpenBSD projects on exile.digital with https://exile.digital/DragonFly_Diary/ https://exile.digital/Steel_Journal/ and https://exile.digital/Fugu_Files/ respectively. Still pretty sparse, but growing. Thanks for all you do for the show, love the way you've been able to cover so much of what's going on in the BSD projects and communities.
