At home, we use LibreELEC on a Pi3 as the front end, with a FreeNAS mini as the backend. We went on vacation and I took the Pi3 and copied files from the FreeNAS to a linux laptop. It mostly works, but had problems with file dates and other things. I don't want to bring my FreeNAS mini on vacation, but do you have thoughts or advice on a more portable FreeNAS system? I know it would need two drives and ECC to do it right, but if it only has to be good enough for a week at the beach, would a laptop or some kind of mini pc work?
